Many eBay sellers experience this exact same problem. They list an eBook on eBay which they are certain will sell but the auction ends with no sales and only five or six hits to the auction. Some small adjustments to the auction listing could easily explode the auction visitors and sales.

Get a new auction title The auction title is the first thing the potential buyer sees and a dull and lifeless one will result in very few click-thrus. It should also be keyword rich. It’s no use having an attractive headline if no one can find it because it lacks keywords. According to studies, 80% of eBay buyers use the keyword search to locate products to buy. The title should always maximise the full length. You are given 55 characters and you should make the most of it. If you have space, then add statements like “Brand New” or “Instant Delivery” or “Resale Rights”. This gives the buyer an extra incentive to buy, whether it is because they could be the first to get it or they will receive their purchase instantly or because they can make money reselling it. By using these phrases it also leverages you against other resellers. You are giving extra incentives to the buyer to buy from you and not the other resellers.

Write a new sales letter Maybe you’re getting the hits to your auctions but you’re not getting the sales. This calls for a change in your sales letter. Revise your auction description to make sure the features and benefits of the product are clearly evident. Also ensure that it is written correctly to appeal to your target market.

Create or buy new graphics Sometimes the graphics provided with resale rights products aren’t of the highest quality. To differentiate yourself from other resellers you can buy new graphics or even create them yourself. Make sure you create graphics which fit in with the mood of the product. For example, if you are selling a product such as “15 Activities to do in the Summer” then you would want to use warm colours like orange, red and yellow in the eBook cover, header and background.

Manipulate the price Sometimes by pricing your product too low you can create a sense that your product is not very valuable and a buyer may opt for a higher priced item. Try raising the price and see if you notice a difference in sales. Similarly, some buyers may opt for a cheaper product because they aren’t prepared to pay the higher fee for your product. You need to split test and find the perfect balance.

Change the rights If you are currently selling the product for personal use only then consider selling the resale rights of private label rights if permitted by the initial author. Again, by doing this you differentiate yourself from other reseller and buyers may choose you instead of the ‘ordinary’ sellers. There are five techniques you can implement into your business instantly and watch as your eBook sales and profits explode. Continue to tweak and test as you continue to learn and create the perfect balance.
